Testingmethodsmaybeusedtomeasureparameters indirectly orparameters otherthanthosespecified ifthoseresultscanbecorrelated tothespecified parameters throughestablished methods.Functional TestFailureAnalsisAnanalysisshallbemadeofeachfailuretomeetthefunctional testacceptance criteriatodetermine thecauseofthefailure.TheresultsofthisanalysisAmendment No.gjf4.14-6Proposed shallbeused,ifapplicable, inselecting snubberstobetestedinanefforttodetermine theoperability ofothersnubbers, irrespective oftype,whichmaybesubjecttothesamefailuremode.Forthespecificcaseofasnubberselectedforfunctional testingwhicheitherfailstoactivateorfailstomove,i.e.,frozen-in-place,thecausewillbeevaluated and,ifcausedbymanufacturer ordesigndeficiency, allsnubbersofthesametypesubjecttothesamedefectshallbefunctionally testedorevaluated inamannertoensuretheiroperability.
