Completion Schedule for the Fort Calhoun Station Permanent Emeroency Operations f acility (EOF)
Omaha Public Power District's letter to the Ccmmistion dated June 4, 1982 provided the District's latest update and schedule for completing the permanent E0F located at the North Omaha Power Station.                  The Dis-trict stated in this letter that completion of the construction and implementation of the new E0F was expected by November 1,1982. The purpose of this letter is to provide the Consission with a status update and a new schedule for declaring the EOF fully operational.
Construction of the subject EOF is essentially complete, except for minor finishing work that is presently being completed. The District has also been performing the necessary work which will enable the new E0F to be declared functional, but several outstanding items remain to be completed. These items include: (1) installation of standard (com-mercial) telephones, (2) review and approval of revisions to the appli-cable Radiological Emeroency Response Plan sections and Implementing Procedures to identify the personnel relocations and transition to the new EOF, (3) transfer of dedicated telephones and lines (i.e., state, county, HPN, and ENS) from the existing EOF and installation of micro-wave communications and miscellaneous equipment lines, (4) transfer of all equipment and supplies from the existing EOF to the new E0F, and (5) training of applicable personnel regarding the transition to the new emergency response facility.                                                            ,-

Mr. Robert A. Clark LIC-82-357 Page Two Based on the work that remains to be completed, the District now expects to have the permanent E0F operational, except for the integration of the emergency response facilities (ERF) computer and associated hardware, by January 1, 1983. Discussion of the implementation schedule for the ERF computer is provided in Attachment 2 to the District's June 4, 1982 letter. Until the new EOF is fully operational, the onsite E0F will continue to be available for emergencies and has proven to be effective during two emergency exercises.
