These understandings were reached'during the joint TVA-'estinghouse demo licensing meeting with the NRC on February 24, 1983.The following licensing plan and sequence of events was agreed to: 1.Westinghouse will submit a generic SQUAD+demonstration assemblies licensing topical for NRC review about two months prior to TVA's submittal of the Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6 reload licensing supplement.

2.TVA will reference this generic report in their reload licensing supplement for Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6.TVA will submit the reload supplement about four months prior to the expected criticality date of Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6.3.The NRC review of the demo licensing topical will be consistent with the schedule of Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6.This review will be consistent with the level of review applicable to demonstration

This letter is to confirmunderstandings reached with the NRC regarding licensing submittals for the gUAD+ demonstration assemblies and the NRC review of such submittals. These understandings were reached'during the joint TVA-

'estinghouse demo licensing meeting with the NRC on February 24, 1983. The following licensing plan and sequence of events was agreed to:

1. Westinghouse will submit a generic SQUAD+ demonstration assemblies licensing topical for NRC review about two months prior to TVA's submittal of the Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6 reload licensing supplement.
2. TVA will reference this generic report in their reload licensing supplement for Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6. TVA will submit the reload supplement about four months prior to the expected criticality date of Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6.
3. The NRC review of the demo licensing topical will be consistent with the schedule of Browns Ferry Unit 2 Cycle 6. This review will be consistent with the level of review applicable to demonstration
