Procedure 1.5.20 has been marked up for revision and is being processed.
Review this CR and provide applicable procedural requirement in 1S.20. The workplan should require Maintenance to seek assistance from Civil/ Structural Design Engineering to determine the location of underground utilities prior to digging on-site.
The markup is as follows. The planner shall put a step into the work plan requiring maintenance to seek assistance from civiYstructura1 design engineering to determine the location of underground utilities prior to digging. The planner desktop guide has been revised to include the above requirement.

Also the planners have been briefed to contact engineering anytime digging is to take place. This CR can be closed. G.Kelly 1/28/04. [ 1/30/04; R. Pace] As the CR owner and OE coordinator that requested this CA, I consider the desk guide to be the important document and it has been changed. The procedure can follow at a later date, if necessary.
===Response===
I would not call it an enhancement but clearly we wanted to get the planners to start seeking assistance immediately. Had 1 known that the planners has a desk guide, I would have simply put the requirement to change the desk guide in the CA, not a requirement to change the procedure. Gary's decision to change the desk guide was the best choice to make it happen quickly and it clearly meets the intent of the CA. Subresponse

Description:

Review this CR and provide applicable procedural requirement in 1S.20. The workplan should require Maintenance to seek assistance from Civil/ Structural Design Engineering to determine the location of underground utilities prior to digging on-site.

Response

Procedure 1.5.20 has been marked up for revision and is being processed. The markup is as follows. The planner shall put a step into the work plan requiring maintenance to seek assistance from civiYstructura1design engineering to determine the location of underground utilities prior to digging.

Closure Comments:

The CA may be closed per the requirements of LI-102.
