Description:

Secondary Containment Leakage Testing in accordance with 8.7.3 was aborted when it was noted that the first set of readings taken after the first SBGT fan was placed in service indicated questionable results. Note that the baseline readings taken were outside the suggested parameters. The test was aborted because steam tunnel temperature was rising and with the questionable results the conservative action was to restore normal reactor building ventillation.

Description:

As the Responsible Manager, validate the problem statement and determine corrective actions as needed to resolve the adverse condition(s). Note: Category 'C' corrective actions may be closed out to MR's without CRG approval provided the M R does not resolve a GL 91-18 deficiency. If a corrective action is closed out to a MR, the responsible manager is responsible to ensure the CR number is included in the M R references section. CA closure statements are expected to confirm this action has been completed.

Response

Revision 41 of 8.7.3 issued on 04/24/03 incorporated appropriate changes to ensure that the Shift Manager is notified prior to proceeding with the test upon observing baseline manometer readings outside acceptable bands specified in the procedure. No additional actions are required. This condition report may be closed.
