Pursuant to the May 6, 1982 Order of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board which terminated the proceedings on the application of Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) for the extension of Construc-tion Permit CPPR-104, attached herewith is NIPSCO's Notice of Site Inspection which will be conducted on October 18, 1982, in conjunc-tion with ongoing site restoration work.
Copies of this Notice are being sent to each of the individuals and organizations appearing on the service list as of May 6, 1982, in the above-referenced proceeding.

4 NOTICE OF SITE INSPECTION To'All Parties of Record as of May 6, 1982, In the Matter of Northern Indiana Public Service Company (Bailly Generating Station, Nuclear-1), Docket No. 50-367 (Construction Permit Extension) 1 On May 6,-1982, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (Board) entered an order in Docket No. 50-367 terminating the proceeding on the application of Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) for extension of Construction Permit No. CPPR-104 for the Bailly Generating Station, Nuclear-1 project (Bailly).      That order required NIPSCO to implement its amended site restoration plan and to send quarterly reports on the progress of the work to all parties of record.      The order further provided:
                          "8. That, on April 15, 1983 and at the completion of the site restoration (but no later than September 1, 1983, if not completed), NIPSCO is to give notice of, and arrange for, an inspection of the site (under reasonable conditions) between 10 and 20 days thereafter, at which each party, if an individual, or one representa-tive from each organizaticnal party (even if inter-vening jointly with other organizations), along with one expert for each such party (if the party so desires),
may be present;
: 9. Each party participating in the. site inspections may conduct reasonable inspection and testing activities which do not interfere with ongoing site restoration.
If the parties cannot agree on what inspection or testing activity is reasonable, the NRC Staff will make the final decision;"
In its site restoration progress report of September 1, 1982, NIPSCO acknowledged the intent of the May 6, 1982 order to provide

an opportunity for a' site inspection while the site restoration work was in progress.      At that time NIPSCO estimated that if the
 
        , ,. L P restoration work proceeded as then planned, it would arrange for, and notify the parties of, an inspection of the Bailly site to be
                ' held in mid-October, 1982. NIPSCO is now of the opinion that the-site restoration work will be at, or beyond, the mid-point of completion during the middle part of October.
;                    Based on this projection, NIPSCO is scheduling the required site inspection to be held while site restoration work is in progress for October 18, 1982, _at 1:00 o' clock p.m. All persons permitted by the May 6, 1982 Board order to participate in such inspection, and who desire to do so, must contact either Mr. Mark-Maassel or Mr. William Elliott on or before October 15, 1982. Each party should identify the name of their representative who will attend the site inspection, the name, firm affiliation and area of expertise of any expert who will accompany the party's representative, the I
