Proposed Alternatives for Application of Structural Weld Overlays to Pressurizer Nozzle Welds," dated March 26, 2007.By letter dated February 28, 2007 (Reference 1), AmerenUE (Union Electric)committed to submit results of the follow-up inspections to be performed for the weld overlays that were installed on the pressurizer nozzles at the Callaway plant during Refuel 15. Specifically, AmerenUE committed to provide a report of the inspection results within 60 days following restart from Refuel 15. Refuel 15 was subsequently concluded at the Callaway plant on May 10, 2007 when the main generator was synchronized to the grid.AmerenUE hereby reports that appropriate inspections, performed in accordance with the qualification requirements of the industry's Performance Demonstration Initiative (PDI), were performed on the pressurizer weld overlays following their installation during Refuel 15. Based upon the PDI-qualified ultrasonic examinations, there were no recordable indications in the overlay welds, XOY 7 a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation K(Wg ULNRC-05424 July 9, 2007 Page 2 of 4 including the outer 1/4 of the association dissimilar metal welds (pressurizer to safe end) and the adjoining stainless steel welds (safe end to stainless steel pipe).These results were also reported in AmerenUE's letter dated May 4, 2007 (Reference
