By letter dated July 29, 2011, Southern California Edison (SCE) submitted a request for exemption and Amendment Applications 261 and 249 for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Units 2 and 3, respectively (Reference 1). The purpose of the exemption request and license amendments was to request unrestricted use of AREVA fuel. In light of the decision to permanently cease power operation of SONGS Units 2 and 3 (Reference 2), SCE withdraws its request for exemption and the associated Amendment Applications 261 and 249. This letter contains no new commitments.
