~- _ Ten Duke Perver Compacy QC inspectors qualified for i.nspecting pipe hangers have been terminated for cheating on tests. These tests were given to qualify them for other areas of mech.anical QC inspectioas in order to broaden their erpertise.

Duka vill audit the previous QC verk of these inspectors.

Duke expects exewployees to create :::edia interest. Neither the licensee tor the XRC plan to issue a news release. The State of North Carolina has been informed.

Regicn II (Atlanta) received cotification of this occurrence by telephcne fron the licensee at 1:30 p.m. on February 8.
