  • One contractor employee tested positive for alcohol on a pre-access drug/alcohol test. The contractor employee was denied access. The contractor employee was provided the opportunity to appeal the denial through the NMC appeal process. The contractor employee requested to have a blood alcohol test completed. Results of the blood test confirmed the positive alcohol results.
  • Two contractor employees tested positive for marijuana on a pre-access drug/alcohol test. The contractor employee was denied access. The contractor employees were provided the opportunity to appeal the denial through the NMC appeal process. There were no appeals.
  • One licensee employee tested positive for alcohol on a for-cause drug/alcohol test. The licensee employee was denied access. The licensee employee was granted unescorted access after satisfactory management and medical assurance was obtained regarding the individual's fitness-for-duty.

Reportable Events Point Beach Nuclear Plant reported one event as required by 10 CFR Part 26.73(a) during the period. On September 30, 2005, at 1459 (EST), a 24-hour FFD event report (EN 42030) was made in accordance with 10 CFR 26.73(a)(2)(ii).
