MS Teams meeting between NRC and GEH to Discuss Decommissioning Planning for VBWR and GETR, 9/13/23 In Reference 4, NRC stated GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, LLC.(GEH) should submit a GETR license termination application and a proposed decommissioning plan within two years of the date of the letter (by October 12, 2023) which resulted in a projected date of October :11, 2023.

In Reference 5, GEH provided a description of the process to be used for the continued decommissioning of the shutdown VBWR, EVESR, and GETR facilities. Included in that description was a high-level schedule to provide several decommissioning related documents and applications.

During our meeting on September 13, 2023 (Reference 8), we discussed our September 1, 2023, request (Reference 7) and discussed delaying the scheduled date to submit the GETR license termination application and decommissioning plan until after the license transfers are approved. The amended license holder will provide a revised schedule and plan for the VNC GETR reactor facility.
