REQUEST TO AMEND LICENSE SNM-1107 AND SUBMITTAL OF SNM-1107 LICENSE APPLICATION PAGE CHANGES

Dear Sir or Madam:

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC (Westinghouse) requests approval for an amendment to SNM-1107 in accordance with 10 CFR 70.34 to remove Item Gin the SNM-1107 Possession Limits. Enclosure 1 contains copies of the Certificate of Disposal and the relevant NRC Forms 540, 541 and 741 as documentation of the removal of the depleted uranium flywheel component from the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) site.

Westinghouse is also providing the enclosed revision to the SNM-1107 License Application. The revision in Enclosure 2 provides updates to the following information in the SNM-1107 License Application:

  • The depleted uranium flywheel was removed from the material possession limits within Section 1.1.4.
  • Names and addresses of principal officers and licensing contacts within Section 1.1.5.
  • Figure 2.1 was updated to reflect the consolidation of the Regulatory Component Functions under a single Plant Staff Manager.
  • Deleted repetitive phrase from third paragraph of Section 10 .1.4.
  • To assure alignment with SNM-1107 License Condition S-16 and Authorization 12.1.1 of the SNM-1107 License Application, Section 10.1.7.2 was re-inserted after inadvertent omission in the previous revision of the License Application.
  • Table 10.2 was updated to correct a typographical error in the list of monitoring wells and to make table text font uniform. The total number of monitoring wells remains unchanged from the previous revision. Table 10.2 footnote 1a updated to reflect current upstream well monitoring locations.
  • "Type of Sample" updated from "Well Water" to "Groundwater" in Tables 10.1 and 10.3.
  • Sections 11.1.1 and 11.1.2, regarding Decommissioning Planning and the Decommissioning Funding Plan, were combined into a single section for clarity.
