Reporting Requirements of the Technical Specifications, Section 6, for Dresden and Quad-Cities Stations, AEC Dkts 50-10, 237, 249,d5Dand 265

Dear tir. Skovholt:

Your letter of September 28, 1972, requested that the reporting requirements in Section 6 of the Technical Specifications be reviewed for consistency with Safety Guides 16 and 21.

This letter is in response to that request.

The Quad-cities:. Technical Specifications were discussed with your staff on November 20 through 22, 1972.

Although the review and audit portions'of Section 6 were not finalized at that meeting, the reportiing requirements were agreed upon.

Therefore, the next issue of the; Quad-cities Technical Specifications, due to be is3ue'd about December 15, 1972, will comply with yous reques,t.

The Dresden Technical Specifications have not been reviewed at this time as all'of our effort has been focused on Quad-cities Station id'an attempt to resolve all outshnding items prior"to issuance of the 100% power license.

After the revised Quad-cities Technipal Specifications are received, with the new reporting requirements, a review of the Dresden reporting requirements will be undertaken.

Mr. D. J. Skovholt 2-December 1, 1972 It is anticipated that this review, along with any necessary revisions to appropriate monitoring equipment and procedures,'will take about throe months.

Therefore, a proposed Technical Specification change for Dresden Units 2 and 3 will be submitted to the AEC by April 1, 1973.

' The Dreuten Unit 1 Technical specifications are presently under review by Commonwealth Edison and your staff.

A. revised reporting requirements section will be. resolved with your staff-for Dresden Unit 1 concurrent with the'Dresden Units 2 and 3 sections.
