On July 15. 1998, representatives of the NRC will meet with the management of

' the Southern Nuclear Operating Company to discuss the Farley Nuclear Power Plant's performance over the past 18 months. You are invited to attend this meeting as an observer.

Subsequent to this meeting, we have scheduled time to meet with you, and other members of your staff as you deem appropriate, to discuss matters of mutual l interest with regard to the regulation and performance of Farley.

This SALP meeting is' scheduled to be conducted at 10:00 a.m. (CST) at the Farley site. Training Building Auditorium. The proposed meeting with you and other local and State officials will be conducted in Room 245 of the Farley site, Training Building, shortly after the conclusion of the SALP.
