This letter refers to our special report on the Zimmer facility, dated 16 July 1971, entitled " Draft -- Supplemental Report to AEC Regulatory Staff on Foundation Evaluation -- William H. Zimmer Nuclear Power Station --

Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company, et al., AEC Docket No. 50-358", by N. M. Newmark, W. J. Hall, A. J. Hendron, J r., and B. Mohraz.

The special report contains summaries of our working studies and questions concerning the foundation evaluation of the William H. Zimmer Nuclear Power Station.

On Monday, 9 August 1971, a meeting was held in Urbana, Illinois with representatives of the applicant, the applicant s engineers-archi tects 8

(Sargent & Lundy), the AEC Regulatory Staff, and us to discuss in detail the topics studied in that report.

This letter confirms that the questions described in our special report of 16 July 1971 have been resolved satisfactorily, and the resolution of these problems is described in detail in our final report on the Zimmer facility.
