This supplement deals only with the foundation evaluation for the plant. In our draf t report we discussed a number of the factors relating to an evaluation of the adequacy of the foundations; we are awaiting additional information on a number of points. in the meantime, we have been requested by your office to look in more detail at (a) the river bank stabliity. We have undertaken considerable additional studies of these items, based on the information we have on hand, including material presented in Amendment 12. We present in the attached supplement a more detailed assessment of the situation, including a recuest for Mditional information; most of those i tems for which additional information is needed, as summari. zed at the end of the attached report, were noted in our report of 4 May 1971.

We shall be pleased to discuss these matters in more detail with your staff as may be appropriate.

Respectful 1y submi tted,
