Quad-Cities Special Report No. 3
Dear Mr. Giambusso:
Attached is Quad-Cities Special Report No. 3 describing the interim modifications to the condensate pump room and its safety related systems.
These interim modifications are provided to insure the availability of water which is normally provided by the RHR service water pumps and diesel generator cooling water pumps.
The unavailability of the RHR service water pumps and diesel cooling water pumps is based on flooding of the condensate pump room.
Permanent modifications are being installed which will prevent this possibility.
These permanent modifications will be the subject of a report to be sub-mitted shortly.
The attached report, in addition to providing the design of the interim modifications, provides data requested as the result of several meetings with your staff.
Interim modifications have been available for some time with the exception of having the condensate pit water level indications design to IEEE 279 standards.
This system will be completed to IEEE 279 standards by November 6, 1972.
