Dear Dr. Morris:
4 The attached information is provided in response to your request of August 9, 1972 for information regarding the availability and reliability of the High Pressure Coolant Injection (HPCI) systems of operating BWR plants.
The information covers Dresden Units 2 and 3 and Quad-Cities Units 1 and 2 starting when the startup testing was completed on the HPCI system (~ 30% power).
The tabular answer to question No.1 also provides some additional information concerning the times that the HPCI systems have been out of service fc,r snaintenance.
Please note that the number of days out of service during shutdown may have been longer than was actually necessary to do the maintenance work.
We hope that the enclosed data will answer your concerns.
If further information is required, please do not hesitate to call on us.
