Ciambusso, Assistant Director for Project Management, Division of Reactor Development and Technology FACILITY LICENSE APPLICATION BY LONG ISLAND LIGHTING COMPANY, DOCKET NO. 50-322 The Long Island Lighting Company has filed an application for licenses to construct and operate a boiling water nuclear reactor, designated as the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, at its 450-acre site on the north shore of long Island in the town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York.

Copias of Volumes I, II, III and IV of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report for the proposed reactor are enclosed. Please review the report and provide Mr. C. A. Lovejoy, Office of the Controller, with your comments as to the reasonableness of the estimated fuel requirements for a reactor of this design and power level. Please provide us with a copy of your comments.
