Zimmer Nuclear, Power Station, Unit 1. near ~ Moscow, Ohio. .NRC I staf f was represented by the Environmental Project Manager (EPN) and- i members of the Radiological Assessment (RAB), Cost Benefit Analysis (CBAB) and Environmental Specialist-(ESB) Branches. Aside from meeting with the applicant, the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company (CG&E), and his con -

sultant, Sargent and Lundy-(S&L), NRC staff met with various local and state level officials. 3 A sumary of the site visit's. schedule and meeting participants is '.

I On October 7,1975 NRC staff met with CG&E and S&L staff at CG&E's

offices in Cincinnati, Ohio. The meeting consisted of NRC staff j concerns to the applicant, and a general overview by the CG&E staff of construction activities. Specific topics discussed included: }

. The possible future change in tax revenue distribution.

. Construction work force impacts due to commuting personnel.

. The clarification of radiological monitoring sites and transport '

media uses. .i

. The fomat for reporting the Environmental Technical Specificpt, ions, i

. The suspended solids concentration of the Ohio River, and possible }i turbidity increases due to the Zimmer Station. '

During the afternoon of October 9,1975, the NRC staff met with staff  ?

representing the Ohio Enviror. mental Protection Agency (EPA), the Ohio l l' Power Siting Commission, and the Ohio Department of Health at the Ohio t a

. EPA offices in Columbus, Ohio. The meeting consisted primarily of water  ;

.i quality questions by the NRC staff, and environmental statement comments '

by Ohio Power Siting Commission staff. Specifically, NRC discussion  :

The regional USEPA chlorine limit for. discharge wastes, and its relationship with the Zimmer Station.

. State level discharge permit status.  !

Ohio River water quality standards.

Surface runoff monitoring programs' (NRC staff noted the.

observed high turbidity within Little Indian Creek, presumably the result of Zimer site runoff).

The discharge location and treatment level of sewage from the construction work force. .
