t NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-265 As a result of the inspection conducted on January 23, 1986, and in accordance with the " General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:
Technical Specificiation 3.8/4.8.A.1 states that representative samples of gaseous effluents shall be obtained in accordance with the sampling and analysis program specified in Table 4.8-1.
Table 4.8-1 requires collection of monthly grab samples and analysis for tritium in gaseous effluents.
Contrary to the above, the licensee failed to collect a sufficient amount of sample material from Unit 2 during December 1985 to permit an adequate tritium analysis to be performed.
This is a Severity Level V violation (Supplement IV).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice a written statement or explanation in reply, including for each violation:
(1) corrective action taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective action to be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
