NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Dockets No. 50-254, 50-265 Quad Cities Station Licenses No. DPR-29, DPR-30 During an NRC inspection conducted on July 19-27, 1993, a violation of NRC requirements was identified. In accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C, the violation is listed below:
Technical Specification 3.7.B.2.a.3 requires at least once every 18 months that laboratory carbon samples from the rtandby gas treatment system show greater than or equal to 90% methyl iodide removal efficiency when tested at 130*C and 95% relative humidity.
Contrary to the above, during the 18-month period from February 1992 to July 1993, the iodide removal efficiency test for laboratory carbon samples from the standby gas treatment system were not tested at 130*C and 95%
relative humidity.
This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement IV).
The inspection report showed that steps were taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence. Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.
