2.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE l
i The purpose of this Ins truction is to supplement I
Reference 1-A and to provide the inspection criteria and docunentation requirements for perfonning post construction f
inspections on Class 1E and Non-Class 1E electrical equipment i
and raceways within the scope of Reference 1-A.

i 3.0 INSTRUCTION l
Post cons truction inspection shall be pe rfo med upon notification from the Building Management Organizations or the TUGC0 Site QA Supervisor or his designee.

A craft accompanied post construction inspection walkdown shall be perfomed by the Electrical QC Ins pectors to provide added assurance of the integrity of Class 1E and l
Non-Class 1E equiptrent and raceway installation.

3.1 POST CONSTRUC1' ION INSPECTION The QC Inspector shall perfonn a visual inspection to the maxinun extent possible without removal of cable tray covers, firewrap and thennolag. A visual inspection shall also be perfor ted inside cabinets, motor tennination boxes and M.O.V. operators.
NOTE:
The OC Insoectors are cautioned not to move tenninal conductors or wire oundles curing inspection. since ecuiement may be enercized.
If the inspector ' etermines it necessary to d
nove conductor (s) or wire bundle (s) for inspection purposes, the:. inspector shall contact his/her supervi'sor who will coordinate with cognizant personnel to obtain access to the equipment.
3.1.1 Raceway Insoections 3.1.1.1 Lighting raceway inspections shall be perfonned in accordance with Paragraph 3.3.1.
3.1.1.2 For all other raceways the QC Inspector's inspections shall include the following:
a.
Condui t and cable trays 'shall be free from damage.
b.
Conduit fittings (L30's, etc.) shall have all covers installed after internal inspection has been canpleted.
c.
Pulling aids (i.e., rollers, fish tape, tag rope) have been renoved from raceway.
d.
Cables are free from damage or debris and are properly identified.
e.
Cables are trained, secured and bend radius has not been violated.

Power cable spacing has been maintained in accordance with Reference 1-C.

Cable slack of two (2) inch minimum is provided at transition points between cable tray sections at different elevations and at conduit entries to cable trays and between Category 1 structures.
NOTE: 1 Covers shall be removed from junction boxes, pull boxes and tennination boxes to ' perfonn required inspections. The removal of these covers shall be i
in accordance with project procedures.
3.1.2 Motor and Cabinet Insoections l
The QC Inspector shall perfonn an inspection of Class 1E l
equipment installations.
These inspections shall include i

3.2 INTERNAL WIRING SEPARATION Separation between field run redundant Class 1E cables and Class 1E/Non-Class 1E cables within a cabinet shall be i
maintained in accordance with the equipment specification.
L If the specification gives no separation requirements, the minimum separation distance between redundant Class 1E and Class 1E/Non-Class 1E cables shall be greater than or equal l
to 6 inches.
In cases where the above separation criteria j
cannot be maintained, barriers shall be installed between the cables, i

A single barrier with a 1" maintained air space or thennal insulating material between the cmponents or devices and the barrier.
Redundant Class IE circui ts shall enter in separate apertures and tenninate on separate tenninal blocks or connectors as shown on G&H design drawings.
Power supply feeds to instrument and control room distribu-tion panels shall be installed in solid enclosed raceway.s as shown on G&H design drawings. (Example: conduit)
The following cabinets have been analyzed and are exempt from the separation requirements; however, equipment that provides for channel or train separation shall be utilized when available.

TBX for Unit 1 and TCX for Unit 2.

3.4 DOCUMENTATION l
When unsatisfactory conditions are identified, the respective l

inspection attribute on the IR, Attachment 2, shall be checked "Unsa t" and the unsatisfactory condition shall be clearly and concisely recorded on the Post Construction Deficiency
- List, Attachment 3,
for raceway and the Electrical Equipment Punchlist, Attachment 4 for equipment.

In large rooms or areas, where it.will require more than o
l one day to ecmplete the inspection, - the inspector shall nunber the sequential deficiency itens beginning wi th the next sequential number from the previous day's inspection.
l NOTE:
In no cases shall the sequential numbe rs be duplicated on deficiency lists in one room or i
area.
l The Building Paper Flow Group shall be responsible fo r status maintenance and tracking or IR's and respective l
deficiency reports.
l Inspection Reports - shall be processed in accordance with t
Reference 1-0.
l Post Construction Deficiency Reports that were prepared and issued in accordance with previous revisions to this i
instruction shall be processed and closed out according to i

Status logs shall be manually caintained under the direction of the cognizant QC Supervi sor to sta tus and control the open Deficiency Reports.
b.
The Deficiency Reports shall be routed to the cognizant Construction Supervisor for correction / resolution of the reported deficiencies.
c.
Following correction / resolution of the deficiencies, the affected items shall be re-inspected and docu: rented on the applicable Inspection Reports.
The responsible QC Inspector shall attach the appl icable. Deficiency Report to each Inspection Report.
3.5 NONCONFORMANCES Hanconformances shall be reported and identified in accordance with Reference 1-E.
