Title:
Technical Assistance Associated with Comanche Peak Civil Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Allegations" Project Initiation: July 5, 1984 i Project Completion: Dweembee-44, 1984 ~ 3epe%ber 30 1. Scope of Work Provide NRC assistance and services in evaluating construction-related allegations at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant power facility. The activities to be conducted by these ennsultants will he to provide technical assistance to NRC to evaluate allegations and related matters. 2. Statement of Work The contractor will supply the below listed personnel types to provide' technical assistance: Three individuals expcrienced in the area of mechanical piping and com-ponents, two individuals experienced in structural engineering with one individual experienced in stress analysis and three individuals experienced in electrical instrumentation. Thess individuals will assess information provided by the NRC, licensee organization, or individuals and provide evaluations of that information to the NRC stoup. leader or designated representative. This effort may include independent analysis, direct. interface with the licensee's organization at all levels (including associated vendors and subcontractors). . preparation and/or review of Testicony for NRC hearings, providing Testimony at NRC hearings or Commission meetings, and other assorted matters. Estimlated Level of Effort 3. I It isl estinatid that up to ninc. staff-months of effort for, the three mechMnical. piping and ' component specialists, up to,four and one-half staff:-months of effort for the structural engineering, and'up to six and o' e-half staff-months of effort for the ciectrical instrumentation n specialists, will be required to accomplish the requested assistance. Tota % estimat.ed level of effort for this program should be 20 staff-months. i 4. 5 l - 3. Government Furnished Information 1 The IRC will provide copies of the allegations and related information to bei reviewed by contractor. This information la sensitive and must be protected by the contractor from disclosure to unauthorized individuals. l 6. Travel i There will be a maximum of four trips to the plant site and two trips to Bethesda, Maryland, for each of the three mechanical pf ping and components specialists. There will be a maximum of six trips to the plant site and three trips to Bethesda, Maryland, for the structural engineering specialists. There will be a maximum of ten trips to the plant site -and five trips to Bethesda, Marylar:i. for electrical instru-mentation cxpertise. 7. Reporting Requirements 1. An interim report as required will be provided on a date agreed upon by the NRC Lead Engineer. 2. The final _Technien1 Evaluation Report summarizing the work and the findings-and conclusions of the contractor 'will be provided on a date agreed upon by the NRC Lead Engineers. l 8. NRC Lead Engineers The NRC Lead Engineer for the three individuals experienced in the area of mechnical piping and compeu nts and the two individuals experienced in structural engineering is Mr. L.
