2.1 P'JRPOSiE AND SCOPE i
i This Quality Instruction supplements Reference 1-A and is I
established to verify the adequacy of installed Class 12 j
equipment and systams at Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station.

3.0 IMSTRUCTION (1) The frequency of inspection efforts shall be as cirected j
within this instruction, unless directed in writing i
otherwise, by the Quality Assurance / Quality Concroi Supervi sor.
l (2) Post construction verification shall be per#omed upon e
I notification froar the Building Management Crgani::ations i

or the TUGC3 Site QA Supervisor or his designee.
(3) All Class 1E and non-Class 1E cable, raceway and equi pment installations within the scope of Reference 1-A shall be inspected and documented in accordance with this Instruction. (

l (5) Where cable tray, caole or other alectical ecuipment is covered or coated, the doctmentation initiated by the original inspections shall be sufficient.

Paragraphs 3.1 and 3.1 of this Instruction. Ins pection results shall be documented on Class 1E Electrical Post Construction Verification Inspecticn Reoorts (Attach-ants 1 and/or 2).
(7) When unsatisfacor/ conditions are identi fi ed, the respective inspection attribute (s) on the IR shall be i
checked "Un-sat" and the deficient itans and concitions recorded on a Post conci sely( Attachment shall be clearly and List.

IR and the IR's shall be processed in accorcance witn Reference 1.-0.
(8) Open Post Construction Deficiency Reports that were prepared and issued in accordance with previous l
revisions to this instruction shall be processed-and closed out according to the following:

Status logs shall be manually maintained under the direction of the cognizant QC Supervisor to status j
i and, control the open Deficiency Reports.

b.
The Deficiency Reports shall be routed to the cognizant Construction Supervisor for correction /
resolution of the reported deficiencies. -
i c.
Following correction / resolution of :ne deficiencies i
reported on each Deficiency Report, the affected itses shall be re-inspected.
Inspection results shall be documented on Inspeciton Reports, Attach-ments 1 and/or 2.
The responsible QC Instector shall attach the applicacle Deficiency Report to each Inspection Report i

Conduit shall be free from burrs, rougn edges or j

3.1.3 Verify Caole Installation The QC Inspector shall perform a visual inspection of cable installations to ensure cables are free of damage.
This l
inspection shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following:

Cables shall be free fras damage and debris.-
b.
Cable bend radii have n6t been violated.
c.
Cables are trained and properly secured with cable ties.
d.
Power cable spacing has been maintained in accordance with Reference 1-B.
I, Cable slack of 2' inch minimum is provided at transition e.
l points between cable tray sections at cifferent elevations and at conduit entries to cable trays and between category I structures.
f.
Cable installed in trays shall be below side rails.

INTERNAL WIRING SEPARATION Separation between field run redundant Class IE cables and Class. 1E/Non-Class IE cables within equipment shall be l
saintained in accordance with the equipaent speci11 cation.
If the specification gives no separation requirements, the sinimum separation distance between redundant Class 1E and Class IE/Non-Class IE cacies shall be greater than or equal to 6 incnes.
In cases dere the above separation criteria j
cannot be maintained, barMers shall be installed between the cables.
l Barriers used for separation will be as follows (See Attacament 4 for typical examples):
