3.0 INSTRUCTION j
3.1 INSPECTION FREQUENCY AND SCOPE The frequency of inspection efforts shall be as directed

within this instruction, unless directed in writing otherwise, l
by the Quality Assurance / Quality Control General Supervisor.
The complexity of installations 'in any particular area may i
vary, the minimum required inspection frequency is as follows:

A craft accompanied post construction verification walkdown shall be conducted by the Electrical QC Inspectors to determine
. the status of items.
All Class 1E cable, raceways and equipment installations within an area shall be inspected.for the attributes as directed herein.
3.2 POST CONSTRUCTION VERIFICATION SHALL CONSIST OF THE i
FQ.L0hlING INSPECTION CRITERIA:
3.2.1 Verify Cable Tray The QC Inspector shall perfom a visual inspection of all raceways to ensure that the trays are free of damage. Damage inspections shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
1 a.
Cable tray shall be free of burrs, rough edges, or foreign material.
- b.. Damage to Galvanized surfaces is to be repaired by application of Galvanox or similar approved product.
c.
Proper workmanship has prevailed to ensure over-all quality product free of surface damage, warpage, bent side rails, etc.
i d.
All cable pulling aids have been removed (i.e., rollers fish tape, tape rope, etc.),
4 3.2.2 Verify Conduit The QC Inspector shall perform a visual inspection, to the maximum extent possible without disassembly, of conduit i
i raceways to ensure conduit is free from damage.
This inspection shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following:
i a.
Conduit shall be free from burrs, rough edges or foreign materials.
b.
Conduit bends shall not show excessive flattening or Interruption of the smooth bore of the conduit.
I NOTE:
Excessive flattening is defined as that amount of flattening which reduces the conduit outside j
diameter by 25%.

Damage to Galvanized surfaces shall be repaired with Galvanox or an engineering approved equal.
d.
Bushings, fittings, and hardware shall be in place and secure.
e.
All cable pulling aids have been removed (i.e. fish tape, tape rope, etc.).
f.
Conduit cover, junction box, pull box and tensination box covers and gaskets have been installed.
3.2.3 Verify Cable Installation The QC Inspector shall perfom a visual inspection of cable installations to ensure cables are free of damage.
This inspection shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following:

a.
Cables shall be free from damage and debris.
b.
Cable bend radit have not been violated.
c.
Cables are trained and properly secured with cable ties.
i d.
Power cable spacing has been maintained in accordance with Reference 1-8.
e.
Cable slack of 2 inch minia's is provided at transition points between cable tray sections at different elevations and at conduit entries to cable trays and between category I structures, j
f.
Cable installed in trays shall be below side rails.
3.2.4 Verify Eouf oment installation The QC Inspector shall perfons a visual inspection to ensure that the installed equipment has not sustained damage and that good and proper workmanship has prevailed. This inspection shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following:
a.
Equipment has sustained no visible physical ' damage, b.
Covers shall be installed and conditions of gasket materials have not deteriorated or sustained damage.
c.
Cables shall be properly trained, bundled and tied with ty-raps in a neat and orderly manner.

Equipment is clean and free from debris.
e.
Storage and maintenance is being perfonned in accordance l
with the requirements of Reference 1-C and equipment is l
adequately protected.

Non pemanent conditions have been clearly marked in accordance with Reference 1-0.

Discrepancies noted during the post construction verification walkdown will be documented on Attachment 2.
After all discrepancies noted on Attachment 2 have been resolved, thqy shall be reinspected to verify acceptability.

Attributes listed on the Inspection Report (Attachment 1) are intended to be basic.
Any

discrepancies not referencad in the Attributes shall be documented in the " Remarks" section.

Monconfonnancies and deficiencies shall be handled in accordance with References 1-F and 1-G.
