MEMORANDUM FOR FILE FROM:

Teresa McLearen Contract Administrator

SUBJECT:

MODIFICATION NO. 6 TO CONTRACT N0. NRC-17-83-399 WITH TAYL0E

' ASSOCIATES FOR STEN 0 GRAPHIC REPORTING SERVICES

~

The subject contract expires on March 15, 1984.

The follow-on procurement

'for these services has been divided into two solicitations; one for

- reporting s'ervices in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, and one for

services throughout the contiguous United States, excluding the Washington, DC Area.1 The Invitation for Bids.(IFB) for the Washington Area services is a total small business set aside; the IFB for the out-of-town services is unrestricted.

- The Small Business Administration has appealed to NRC's Head of r rocuring Activity the issuance of the unrestricted IFB. As a result of this appeal, the-IFB has been suspended.

.The negotiation of a two-month extension of the current contract, at the basic year ~ rates, is necessary to prevent interruption of essential services penoing review of. the determination to issue the unrestricted IFB.

I t' is anticipated _that this extension will have no impact on the total estimated amount currently in the subject contract.

Based on the foregoing, it is recommended that the contract be modified I

~

to ' extend the period of performance for two months, from March 15, 1984 through May 15, 1984.
