On March 22, 1994, the staff forwarded its recossendation to the l
Commission for proposed enforcement action against the Georgia l
Power Company (GPC) in SECY-94-075.
The proposed enforcement action is based on information collected during an Office of Investigations (OI) i to allegations that were made to Region II that material falseinvestiga sMtements re mads to the NRC by senior GPC Licensee officials.

Commission's Office of Investigations (01) at Georgia Power Company's (GPC)
Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) which was completed on l
investigation was initiated as a result of information received by Region 11 The in June 1990, alleging that material false statements were made to the NRC by j-senior officials of GPC regarding the reliability of the Emergency Diesel Generators (EDG) subsequent to a March 20. 1990 Site Area Emergency (SAE) at i
VEGP.
The statements in question were initially made during an oral presentation to the NRC in the NRC Region II offices on April 9, 1990 in i
support of GPC's request to return VEGP Unit 1 to power operations and subsequently in GPC's submittal to the NRC on April 9, 1990, titled, V0GTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT CONFIRMATION OF ACTION LETTER.
