UNITED STATES ATtMTC ENERGY CO M SSION DOCKET NO. 50-263 NOR'!HERN STATES POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMEXIMWT TO PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE Notice is hereby given that the U. S. Atomic Energy Comminaion (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 6 to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-22 issued - to the Northern States Power Company (the licensee) which revised the quantity of byproduct material the licensee may use in connection with operation of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, located in Wright County, Minnesota. The amendment is effective as of its 'date of issuance.

The amendment authorizes the licenses to possess and use 250 m1111 curies of krypton 85 for calibration of the. continuous air rmnitor at the reactor building vent to verify industry dad.

The application for the amendesat complies with the= standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy A%c of 1954, as amended (the Act),

and the Commission's-rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.
