UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-263 NORDiERN STATES POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE Notice is hereby given that the U. S. Atomic Energy Comission (the Connission) has issued Amendment No. S to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-22 issued to Northern States Power Company (the licensee) which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Monticello Muclear Generating Plant, Unit 1 located in Weight County, Minnesota. This amend-ment is effective as of its date of issuance.
The amendment pemits deletion of those environmental monitoring requirements which have been shown by experience gained over'the few years to be unnecessary or unproductive and increases sampling in areas shown to be productive.
It also specifically requires monitoring of two additional media as stipulated by the licensee, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and the AEC Regulatory Staff on October 23, 1974.
The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended,(the Act), and

the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I which are set forth in the license amendment.
