5.1.4 He shall ensure that there are no incomplete discrepancy or nonconformance reports pertaining to the area being prepared for placement of concrete.

he shall indicate which items are not applicable and which 5 items are to be complaced by the QC Inspector and/or the I Field Engineer.

M 6.2.3 ' Vertical Construction Joints - The inspector shall ensure that formed vertical construction joints with keyways have been cleaned and laitance removed. ,

J U 6.2.4 Wetting of Concrete Surfaces - The inspector shall ensure that existing concrete surfaces have been kept wet for a

period of two to four hours prior to placing new concrete and that water has been removed from depressions.

4 6.3.3 Blockouts - The Field Engineer shall verify that all blockouts have been checked for location and elevation.

6.3.4 Preplacement Cleaning of Forms - The inspector shall

. 6.4.3 Minimum Concrete Coverage - The inspector shall ensure g- that, unless otherwise specified in the drawings and I N and specifications, the reinforcing steel within the 5 forms will permit a minimum two inch overall concrete coverage with the exclusion of bars that will extend h into adjacent placements.

C 4 6.4.4 Overlap Splices - The inspector shall verify that the h ovorlap splice lengths and their locations are in accordance with the drawing requirements.

6.4.5 Machaaie=1 Splices - The inspector shall ensure that I

splicing of bars are made only at locations shown on the drawings. Mechanical splices (Cadweld) will be inspected in accordance with QCIP-9,and the inspector shall ensure that all aschanical splices have been accepted prior to placement of concrete.

  • QCIP-6-1, shall be provided by the Quality Control I Civil Supervisor. .This card shall be maintained near the placement to provide a constant status l ,

check for concrete placement preparations and is a Quality Control document; it shall be signed by

the m=14ev l'antrol Civil Suoervisor_when he is satisfied that concrete placement may proceed.
