g 7.0 REPAIR SEOUENCE -

7.1 The repair work will be performed '

as follows or as -directed by the Engineer. -

7.1.1 Chip the surface of the placement to the top mat of reinforcing steel in accordance with Section 8 of this procedure.

7.1,2 Drill 2" diameter cored grout holes.on a 2' x ,3' grid in accordance with Section 9 of this procedure. , , ,a 7.1.3 Grout 2" diameter corsd holes in accordance with Section 10 of this procedure. .

7.1.4 Verify and document the retait'as'. directed:by the Engineer.

Addendum #1 to this procedure shall be written and , approved after the grouting operation is completed.' , Addendum fl.<shall contain all verification requirements.

7.1.5 Cadweld and repair damaged resteel in accordance with J. A. Jones Special Process Procedure W-SP-1 Reference 3.5, and Section 12 of

. I 8.1 The surface of the area to be grouted shall be chipped and cleaned to the top mat of reinforcing steel exposing both mats of #11 bars. The area to be chipped and cleaned shall be bounded by the following lines running parallel to existing column lines. ,

8.2 Care shall be taken not to damage existing embedments and reinforcing steel.

Damaged materials shall be repaired or replaced as directed by the Engineer.

9.0 CORING OF GROUT HOLES 9.1

  • A two (2) foot by three (3-) foot grid of grout holes shall be layed out in the exposed area conforming to Attachment A. Locations may vary due to interferences, i.e. steel, plates, etc. .

9.2

'Two'(2) inch diameter cores shall be drilled at all locations. The depth . ,*

of cdres shall be three (3) feet at the south edge increasing in' depth by six (6) inches for every two (2) foot increment north of the south edge of the chipped area. See

11.0 VERIFICATION. ~

11.1 Afte'r grouting is. completed, the Engineer shall review the operation and determine the verification requ, ired. At this time Addendum #1 shall be written and approved for yerificitioycof' the repair.

11.2 Section 12 of this procedure shall not be completed un.til the' verification is accepted by the Engineer. After acceptance of the verification the

. surface shall be repaired.

12.0 SURFACE REPAIR 12.1 A'fter verification is completed, the chipped area shall be inspected for damaged materials. Appropriate documentation shall be initiated for the repair of damaged materials. '

12.3 After all damaged materia'ls are repaired, the surface of the chipped area

12.4 After the epoxy has been applied, place 4000 PSI Class AA concrete using ~

pea gravel as coarse aggregate to the requi;ed elevation. Finish and cure as required by approved construction drawings and specification.

13.0 INSPECTION 13.1 J. A. Jones' Quality Verification personnel shall be' responsible for all documentation required by this procedure. -- -- - - - - - - - - --

13.2 J. A. Jones' Quality Verificatien shall ce=picte the applicable appendixes during the grouting operations.

. 13.3 Quality Verification personnel during the grouting operations shall inspect sur, rounding cores for influence of~ grout. .

13.4 Any direction received from the Engineer during the completion of the repair shall be documented by Quality Verification personnel, signed, and dated by the directing Engineer. .
