NOTES Specific:

1. If previously compacted layer has been unworked for two days, the area may require cutting back the surface and proofrolling in order to provide a s s

satisfactory base for fresh fill. '

2. Material that has become over wet between lifts should be aerated, blended, or removed , and recompacted to the required densities.
3. Debris and organic material is defined as logs , stumps, compressive material R7 or material which, through decomposition or elasticity produce a void in the compacted. material.

4 Shell material may be mLxed with sand or clay; however, it must be mixed with the sand or clay such that it is firmly embedded in and supported by it.

5. Alternate path should be followed to avoid a single spot or pathway through the fill which is significantly harder than the balance of that fill sur-face, it should be leveled prior to placing fresh fill on the area.
6. Fill layers should be slightly sloped away from the structure so that the drainage is toward the unconfined edge of the fill and not into the structure.
