Complete The licensee was required by Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.1 (Part 2) to confim i

that they have established an interface with either the NSSS or with the vendors of each of the components of their Reactor Trip System. The response should also confirm that this interface program includes periodic communication between licensee / applicant and the vendor and a system of positive feedback which confims receipt by the licensee / applicant of transmittals of technical infomation. The licensee has responded and our review of the responses as documented in the enclosed contractor's report (EG&G-NTA-7720) finds the licensee's responses to Generic Letter 83-28 Item 2.1 (Part 2) to be acceptable.

The enclosed aER documents our concurrence with the contractor's findings and i

also finds the licensee's responses for this item to be acceptable. We, l

therefore, consider Part 2 of Item 2.1 to be closed by this action. This action also closes TAC Nos. 52825 and 52826 since Generic Letter 83-28, Item 2.1 (Part

1) was previously closed for these plants by our SER dated August 21, 1986.

SALP input for the review of Item item 2.1 (Part 2) of Generic Letter 83-28 is enclosed.
