Gentlemen:
NRC letter dated January 12, 1988, (Log No. 2481) requented Toledo Edison (TED) to provide a date that the program for Iteny 2.1.1 of Generic Lytter 83-28 was implemented. This program was in' place at the time of our initial response to Generic Letter 83-28 dated November 7, 1983 (Serial 1000).
Your letter also requested TED to provide additional inforcation concerning our NSSS vendor interface program TED recently provided a brief der,cription of our vendor interface progran in response to GL 83-2P., Item 2.2.2 per letter Serial Ne., 1379 dated July 6, 1987.
Provisions for interface with our NSSS vr.nder (B&W) is encompassed by this program. As stated in Serial 1370, r vendor periodic contact program has been initiated and will continue as a peruanent activity. The Applicable procedure is being revised to incorporate periodic vendor contact as a permanent activity. The vendor periodic contact program includes provisions for positive feedback.
Therefore, TED confirms that a formal program is operational and will remain operational throughout the renainder of plant lffe.
