CALVERT CLIFFS - EVALUATION OF FIRE PROTECTION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AMENDMENT (TAC NOS. 64598 AND 64599)

Plant Name: Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2 Licensee: Baltimore Gas & Electric Company Docket Nos.: 50-317/318 Review Status: Complete By letter dated January 20, 1987, the licensee requested approval of an amendment to the plant technical specifications (TS). The proposed changes involve increasing the surveillance frequencies of certain fire protection features i

from the current 18 months or 3 years to at least once per refueling interval so as to coincide with the licensee's 24 month refueling cycle.

Attached as Enclosure 1 is our evaluation of the proposed amendment. Based on our evaluation we conclude that the proposed changes are acceptable.

Our SALP input is provided in Enclosure 2.

We consider our efforts on TAC Nos.

I 64598 and 64599 to be complete.
