- Safetr Analysis The Engineered Safeguards system at the Fort Calhoun Station Unit No. 1 is so designed that no single failure can prevent the perfe.~ ance of a safety feature if required.

Even though relay 86E1/ VIAS failed to Operate when first tested, the redundant relay 86A1/ VIAS vas fully operational at the tine and would have carried out the reqttired function of 8631/ VIAS. At the time of the failure, the plant was in a refueling shutdovn condition.

v The relay has been rechecked in accordance with ..aintenance Order number 20716 and found to be fully operational. This failure is considered to be an isolated failure and no further action is anticipated.
