Dear Mr. Chairman:
Thank you for your letter of December 11, 1981, concerning the investigation of the quality control practices of the Hayward Tyler Pump Company.
During the week of January 4,1982, our Region IV Office (Dallas) initiated an investigation of the alleged practices.
It is anticipated that the investigation will continue throughout the month of January.
Region IV will also perform a team inspection of the activities of the Hayward Tyler plant during this same period.
Subsequent action such as physical examination of a sampling of Hayward Tyler pumps as suggested in your letter will be dependent upon the results of the investigation and inspection.
We will apprise you of any significant findings identified by the investigation and inspection.
