SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR STATUS REPORT ON HAYWARD-TYLER PUMP COMPANY Region IV is continuing the investigation of the allegations regarding the Hayward-Tyler Pump Company.
The current allegations are similar in nature to those communicated by the FBI in February 1978. The inspection performed by Region IV subsequent to the receipt of the allegations found no deviations from NRC requirements.
Region IV is currer.tly conducting a team inspection of activities at the Hayward-Tyler plant to substantiate or discount the current allegations.
Region IV plans to complete the investigation and inspection by mid-February 1982.
John Collins is aware of your interest and is available.to discuss the situation directly with you should you desire more information.
The Commission will be further advised of this issue when the investigation s
i is complete and a final response to Congressman Markey is forwarded to l
the Commission.
