. Ssquoyah Nuclesr Plcnt LER SUFFLDfENTAL INFORMATION SQRO-50-327/ 8056 Technical Specification Involved LCO 3.3.3.9 Reported Under Technical Specification 6.9.1.13.b Date of occurrence: 5/8/80 Time of Occurrence: 2230 CST Unit 1 Identification and Description of Occurrence:

A common circuic breaker feeding 0-RM-90-134, 141 and 1-RM-90-112 opened causing loss of the subject radiation monitors.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Unit 1 fuel loading complete and in Mode 4.

Action specified in the Technical Specifiention Surveillance Requirements ret due to inoperable equipment.

Technical Specification LCO 3.3.3.9, Action 29 was initiated upon discovery.

Instruments were restored to operation within 15 minutes of discovery and required action was terminated.

Apparent Cause_ of Occurrence:

Maintenance personnel working in a control panel (unit 1) werc using an electrial outlet which is on the sane circuit as the radiation eenitors.

The equipment being used overloaded the circuit, causing the breaker to open.

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no hazard to the public health or safety.

Corrective Action:

The breaker was closed and conitor operal.111ty restored. Maintenance personnel were instructed not to use electrical outicts in centrol g.ancis nud warning signs are being prepared to plaec on cabinets.
