In the course of the Trojan ASL3 hearings of December 23-29, the Staff identified certain satters that required further information from the Licensee before the Staff could complete its review of LIR 79-15.

The attached responses are submitted to provide this information.

It is our incencien to =eet shortly with the NRC Staff to review plans for a confir=atory testing program on model double-block masonry and composite valls to supplement the available =asonry test data. This program vill provide data = ore directly applicable to the Trojan valls, and vill serve to better quantify the sargins available in the Trojan masonry and composite valls. This confirmatory testing progras is an extension of that which was previously required by the NRC Staff follow-ing our seeting with them en December 6,1979.

We vill establish a schedule for the completien and docu=entation of the results cnd conclusions af ter finalising the program details with the NRC Sta!!.
