Mason Building Box 30028 Lansing, Michigan 48909 Re: Coastal Zone Management Federal Consistency Certification for the Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant Unit Mc. 2

Dear Mr. Hosford:

Enclosed is a copy of the Enrico Fermi Atomic Power "lant Unit No. 2 federal consistency certification submitted by The Detroit Edison Company to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Cor.ission in con-junction with its application for licenses to receive nuclear fuel and operate the plant.

As indicated in that letter, Detroit Edison has reviewed the Enrico Fermi Unit No. 2 project for consistency with the Michigan Coastal Zone Management Program. A detailed description of the plant along with the information necessary to assess the effects of the plant's operation on the coastal zone is contained in Detroit Edison's Enrico Fermi Unit No. 2 Final Safety Analysis Report and Environmental Report previously filed with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Additional evidence of Detroit Edison's commitment ia demon-strated in the Ccmpany's applicatica for all ne:essary per.aitr and licenses to construct and operate the plant.

Very truly yours,

.N.-
