Re: Nine Mile Point Unit 2 Docket No. 50-410 Enclosed are 25 copies of the final report which describes the geologic investigation at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 2 Site. This report consists of three volumes regarding the investigations of Geology (Volume I), Geomorphology, Vertical Crusted Movements and Seismicity (Volume II), and Rock Stresses (Volume III). In addition, we have provided an Executive Summary that highlights the results of the investigation.
As a result of the comprehensive field, laboratory and analytical studies performed by Dames and Moore for this project, it is .concluded that none of the geologic structures encountered at the Site represents a seismic hazard. Additionally, an independent review of this work was conducted by our geologic, cons'ultants, Doctors S. S. Alexander, D. R. Coates and F. A. Donath. They concur with the above conclusions.
Very truly yours,,
