Special Report: Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation Channel #12 Inoperable In accordance with Action 3 of Nine Mile Point Unit 1 (NMP1) Technical Specification (TS) Table 3.6.11-2, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation Action Statements," Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, LLC (NMPNS) is submitting the following Special Report concerning inoperability of Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation Channel #12.

Description of Event On May 7, 2024, at 1359, the Channel #12 Containment High Range Radiation Monitor was declared inoperable. During replacement of a power supply for Unit 1 Stack Gas Radiation Monitor, a short to ground caused a fuse to blow for RPS bus 12 circuit 4. This resulted in loss of power to the Unit 1 Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation Channel

The redundant channel of Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Instrumentation, Channel #11, was operable during the period Channel #12 was inoperable.

Cause of lnoperability The cause of the inoperability was the loss of power.

NMP1 Special Report May 16, 2024 Page2 Action Taken The condition was entered into the station's corrective action program under IR 04772638.

Maintenance technicians replaced the fuse. Operability was restored on May 7, 2024, at 2351.
