CLOSURE OF INVESTIGATION (014-2013-040)

Dear Mr. Heflin :

This refers to an investigation conducted by the NRC's Office of Investigations regarding activities at Wolf Creek Generating Station . The Office of Investigations initiated the investigation to determine whether a welder/pipefitter, Day and Zimmerman Atlantic, Wolf Creek Generating Station, Burlington , Kansas, was the subject of discrimination for raising safety concerns regarding safety documents being removed from work packages.

Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, the allegation that a welder/pipefitter employed by Day and Zimmerman Atlantic was the subject of discrimination for raising safety concerns regarding safety documents being removed from work packages was not substantiated . The NRC plans no further action related to the discrimination aspect of this allegation and considers this investigation closed .
