Report 46, dated April 27, 2023, from D. T. Hamman, WCNOC, to USNRC
Subject:
Docket No. 50-482 and 72-79: Correction to 2022 Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report - Report 46 Commissioners and Staff:
Enclosed is updated information from the Wolf Creek Generating Station 2022 Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report - Report 46. Appendix B Meterological Data (on page 26 of the report) originally noted not meeting 90% data recovery for the 60-meter temperature and 10-meter wind instruments. However, upon further research, Wolf Creek Generating Station did meet Regulatory Guide 1.23 requirements for data recovery for all required instruments.
Utilizing data from the plant computer, Nuclear Plant Information System (NPIS), 90% or greater data recovery was achieved for all required sensors. Condition report 10024800 was written documenting the use of NPIS data in the 90% metrology data recovery.
A revised page 26 is enclosed with this letter. The third and fourth paragraphs have been revised to note achieving 90% data recovery.
This letter contains no commitments. If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact me at (620) 364-4204.
Sincerely, Dustin T. Hamman

Wolf Creek Generating Station 2022 Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report - Report 46 (2 pages including this page)
2022 Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report 26 HOURS AT EACH WIND SPEED AND DIRECTION This section documents WCGS metrological data for wind speed, wind direction, and atmospheric stability.
The metrological data supplied in the following tables covers the period from January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022, and indicates the number of hours at each wind speed and direction for each stability class. All gaseous releases at the WCGS are ground level releases.
Wolf Creek Generating station met Regulatory Guide 1.23 requirements for data recovery for all required instruments. Utilizing NPIS data, 90% or greater data recovery was achieved for all required sensors.
Condition report 10024800 was written documenting the use of NPIS data in the 90% metrology data recovery.
Condition reports 10011103, 10011368, and 10011380 were written on multiple issues and work orders have since been completed. The terminal boards of 60 Meter temperature sensors have been replaced, the Data logger has been replaced, and all wind speed, direction and sonic instruments have been replaced during the first annual performance of preventive maintenance of Met Tower system.
