Briana, NOAA' s National Marine Fisheries Service Habitat Conservation Division (NMFS HCD) has reviewed a letter dated December 11, 2012 from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) provided via email to Mr.

Rusty Swafford on February 26, 2013 regarding the proposed license renewal for the South Texas project, Units 1 and 2. The proposed license renewal would not involve any new construction actitivities or changes to the current operation of the South Texas project's Units 1 and 2. The NRC has concluded that continued operation during the 20-year license renewal period would not adversely affect Essential Fish Habitat (EFH). NMFS HCD concurs with this conclusion. No further EFH consultation is required for this renewal action.
