New NRC Daily Notes for September 9, 2011 Daily Notes for September 9, 2011 On Sep. 8, Dominion met with staff to discuss their assessment of the Aug. 23 earthquake near North Anna and to describe their recovery plan and schedule for restart. The licensee communicated their plan to enter a refueling outage for Unit 2 by September 12th and to complete the proposed post-event testing, inspections and start-up assessment for Unit I by September 22nd. The staff communicated to the -licensee that their .proposed schedule was in advance of the augmented inspection team conclusion and did not factor in any time for NRC approval of their proposal. The staff plans a series of meetings with the licensee over the next few weeks to discuss technical issues in greater detail, including discussions concerning the licensee's.longer term plans to update the seismic design and licensing bases with the ongoing GI-199 effort.

From September 12 -- 16, staff will be presenting at the "NRC Day" at the annual conference for the National Organization of Test, Research, and Training Reactors (TRTR) in Idaho Falls, ID. The TRTR is the industry group for the test and research reactors in the United States.
