- Shayan, By letter dated December 19, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22353A620) Dominion Energy submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), a request for review and approval of Appendix F to Fleet Report DOM-NAF-2-P. Appendix F addresses Qualificaiton of the Framatome ORFEO-GAIA and ORFEO-NMGRID CHF Correlations in the Dominion Energy VIPRE-D Computer Code.
The NRC staff has reviewed the information submitted and needs additional information to complete its review and approval of the licensees submittal. These requests for additional (RAIs) are attached to this email and are released formally with a 30-day response period (March 10, 2023) requested.

DRAFT REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BY THE OFFICE OF NUCLEAR REACTOR REGULATION APPENDIX F TO FLEET REPORT COM-NAF-2-P VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 MILLSTONE POWER STATION UNITS 2 AND 3 EPID: L-2022-LLT-0003 By letter dated December 19, 2022, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22353A620), Dominion Energy (the licensee), submitted a request for review and approval of Appendix F to Fleet Report DOM-NAF-2-P to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The appendix addresses qualification of the Framatome ORFEO-GAIA and ORFEO-NMGRID critical heat flux correlations.
The NRC has determined that the following additional information is necessary to complete its review and make a regulatory decision.
- 1. To enable the NRC staff to independently verify the data evaluations that were performed to benchmark and qualify the VIPRE-D/ORFEO-GAIA and VIPRE-D/ORFEO-NMGRID code/correlation pairs in the Appendix F to the TR, please provide the dataset that was used to perform the benchmark for the Framatome ORFEO-GAIA and ORFEO-NMGRID Critical Heat Flux (CHF) correlations.
