Request for Additional Information on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Generic Letter 2007-01: Inaccessible or Underground Power Cable Failures That Disable Accident Mitigation Systems or Cause Plant Transients (TAC NOS. MD4377 and MD4378)
Dear Sir or Madam:
This is in response to Reference 3 which requested additional information regarding the plant history search described in Reference 2; the SCE response to Reference 1 (Generic Letter 2007-01).
The NRC requested confirmation that the electronic SCE database cable failure history search in the San Onofre Units 2 and 3 investigations for Generic Letter 2007-01 included cable failures that occurred prior to July 10, 1996 (or the licensee's implementation date of the Maintenance Rule) and included cable failures that can be searched for in an electronic database, regardless of the actual date of the failure.

Document Control Desk February 14, 2008 SCE confirms that the electronic database cable failure history search in the San Onofre Units 2 and 3 investigations for Generic Letter 2007-01 included a history search for all past cable failures, regardless of the actual date of the failure.
